How to Get to Khao Lak

 

from Bangkok (approximately 12 hours - 800 Km)

Drive to along Highway No. 35 (Thon Buri-Pak Tho) passing Samut Sakhon and Samut Songkhram Provinces and then take Highway No. 4 to Hua Hin. Continue to Prachuab Khiri Khan and then Chumpon. drive to highway N. 41 until few kilometers before Suratthani, drive to Takua Pa highway N. 401. Khao Lak National Park is located 30 km South of Takua Pa off the Highway N. 4 which connect Phuket with Ranong.

from Phuket (approximately 1 hours - 70 Km)

Drive to along Highway No. 4 leading to Ranong at about 70 Km from Phuket turn left to Khao Lak





There are daily Buses from Bangkok's Southern Bus Terminal to Takua Pa which usually run in the night. The trip takes about 10 hours. From Takua Pa there are several public buses a day leading to Khao Lak. Here you can find also Taxis service.

To get to Khao Lak from Phuket you can take public Bus from Phuket town to Takua Pa and the other bus or taxi from Takua Pa to Khao Lak.

If you want to reach Khao Lak from Koh Samui, it is recommended you leave the island early in the morning. Take the car ferry from Nathon to Suratthani, then take a public bus from Suratthani to Takua Pa. In Takua Pa bus station you can find other busses or taxis leading to Khao Lak. You should be able to arrive in Khao Lak in the Afternoon.



To reach Khao Lak by plane you can flight to Phuket and then take a taxi directly to Khao Lak or rent a car. Phuket Airport distance is approx. 80 Km. Almost all Thai and Asian airlines flight to Phuket, so you have a big chose of airlines and fares. Check The airlines List
